How Much FPS Can You Expect From a PC With RTX 3060?

The RTX 3060 prebuilt PCs are positioned at the middle tier of the market and are targeted at buyers shopping for a value-to-money gaming machine.

These mainstream gaming machines have come a long way which is mainly possible due to the fact that mid-range tier graphics cards like the Nvidia RTX 3060 are getting better with each iteration.

The Nvidia RTX 3060 represents a generation leap in graphic card technology. Due to the advanced technology, this graphic card has exceptional performance capability. This graphic card has unlocked new avenues for both Nvidia and the gamers.

Things that were not possible before have been made available by the Nvidia RTX 3060 graphic card. Of course, a PC is more than a graphics card and I am pleased to report that other RTX 3060 prebuilt PCs have other aspects that are great as well.

This results in these PCs being able to play modern games at not only 1080p but also 1440p resolution. For reference, let’s take a look at the average FPS of the current champion in the gaming PC market, that being the Yeyian Kunai X23.

  • Average FPS on 1080p Resolution

75 FPS in Red Dead Redemption, 80 FPS in Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, 85 FPS in Forza Horizon 5, 110 in Fortnite, 132 FPS in COD WarZone, 160 FPS in Apex Legends, and 390 FPS in Valorant.

  • Average FPS on 1440p Resolution

56 FPS in Red Dead Redemption, 68 FPS in Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, 70 FPS in Forza Horizon 5, 76 FPS in Fortnite, 88 in COD WarZone, 133 FPS in Apex Legends, and 260 FPS in Valorant.

From the FPS figures, you can clearly see that an RTX 3060 prebuilt gaming PC can deliver exceptional performance and can play single-player as well as multi-player games at a very good framerate.

Although this PC represents the upper echelon of the industry, the results may slightly vary if you opt for other gaming machines. Generally speaking, the FPS numbers will be in the same league only a tad bit less.

All in all, it can be decisively said that the RTX 3060 prebuilt PCs deliver excellent performance and are capable of 1080p as well as 1440p gaming.

How We Choose

We are quite meticulous with our choosing criteria. There are numerous stages that we have set up in order to filter only the best gaming PCs for reviewing purposes.

Firstly, we have a dedicated team that examines the current market situation and picks any PC that is worthy of consideration. Then the selected PCs are compared upon initial impressions and the ones that are deemed more worthy are passed on the reviewing stage.

How We Review

Our reviewing process is relatively simple. We believe in removing tech jargon therefore our reviews are based on the user experience stating how a PC is to use on a daily basis rather than extensively talking about the specification a gaming PC has.

For this purpose, the PC is used by one of our members as his daily machine. In this way, we get to better describe to you what a PC will feel like when you buy it.

Also, we make sure that the testing period accounts for the longevity of the PC since we expect our consumers to be keeping their gaming machines for a long while.

Gaming Experience

All things aside, the gaming experience is the most crucial aspect of any gaming PC. You are buying a gaming PC for the purpose of playing games and therefore will likely spend your time gaming.

In order to provide a good gaming experience, the PC has to perform really well in games. The in-game performance of the PC is evaluated by measuring the Frame rate of the game that is being played.

Since the Yeyian Kunai X23 has the latest industry-leading hardware at the core it performs exceptionally well and delivers a truly phenomenal gaming experience to its users.

I put the PC through its paces by testing various sorts of games on it but it didn’t budge in any instance and ran all the games I threw at it with ease. The average FPS figures I recorded were as follows.

All these games were subjected to the highest graphic setting that each game had to offer on both the 1080p and the 1440p resolution to keep the results as consistent as possible.

Based on the FPS figures and running this PC back-to-back with other gaming machines on the list I can decisively say that the gaming experience provided by this PC is the best and no other PC comes close to the raw performance capability of this PC which is quite obvious when comparing the FPS of this PC to the others.

Specifications

The Yeyian Kunai X23 has the specification aspect under complete control. By featuring the latest and the greatest hardware for the price the PC cements its place among the very best prebuilt PC with 3060.

Powering the PC is a 12th generation Intel i5 12600K processor. This 10 core 16 thread processor running at the clock speed of 4.9GHz is capable of some phenomenal performance figures.

Having it on the Z690 motherboard platform means that the processor is able to squeeze out every ounce of power. Despite that, if more power is needed you have the option of overclocking your Intel 12600k, but I won’t recommend doing that.

Having 10 cores and a high clock speed means that this processor generates a lot of heat. To counter this, the Yeyian Kunai X23 has a 240mm AIO liquid cooler. This AIO liquid cooler is very effective in keeping the temperature of the CPU below 80°C when gaming. In my use the CPU never thermal throttled which is ideal.

Besides great cooling, the AIO liquid cooler is also relatively compact in size. This allows for better clearance for the RAM slots. Talking about RAM, this PC comes with 16GB DDR5 running at a clock speed of 4800MHz. This is the only PC on the list to feature the latest DDR5 RAM.

The 1TB NVME M2 SSD storage drive that you get with the PC also has the latest GEN 4 technology. This allows for much faster data transfer speeds and makes the whole PC quite snappier. Along with the 1TB Gen 4 NVME, you also get a 2TB HDD with this PC for mass storage.

Case Design and Connectivity

Yeyian has to be a pioneer in innovative case design in the prebuilt gaming PC space. Most of their gaming PCs come with unique and distinctly designed cases and this one is no exception.

Unlike other PC cases, the case of the Yeyian Kunai X23 forgoes the glass front panel option in favor of solid black plastic. This is quite a refreshing change because the glass trend has been done to death now and if I am being honest, it makes it hard to distinguish between high-end and low-end gaming PCs because every PC looks the same.

Coming back to the Yeyian case, the front black plastic is not your regular plain old panel. It has nice contours with sharp edges to prop up the look of the case and give it a more aggressive design. I also like the fact that the bottom of the front panel has a rubberized texture which provides grip when picking up the case.

I am glad that the case of this PC has a very clean stature. This also holds true for branding. Rather than having a branding logo on the front of the glass side, this PC has it on the metal panel side which is hardly ever in view. This gives the PC a very clean and uninterrupted look.

The only negative I want to bring up in the case design segment is that this PC does not have any proper airflow at the front of the case.

Moving to the connectivity next and I cannot point to any flaw here. All the ports that you would be needing on a daily basis are present here.

Not only that but the quality of all the connections is top-notch. The ethernet supports speeds up to 2.5 Gbps, the 4x USB-A ports are based on the latest Gen 2 protocol while the audio ports support 7.1 channel audio.

All in all, the connectivity of this PC is quite flawless. It isn’t perfect but very close to that distinction.

Aesthetics and Salient Features

Yeyian with the Katana X23 has carved out a very distinct aesthetic for themselves. This PC has a unique look that is not matched by any other gaming PC in the market.

The main aesthetic feature of this PC is the RGB strip that runs along the front of the PC. That itself is not noteworthy but the way they have implemented the strip into the contour of the case speaks to the attention paid in designing this PC.

The RGB strip seems to be embedded in the case rather than placed on top of the case. This along with the sharp lines of the case gives the front of the PC a very aggressive yet elegant look.

The RGB lighting inside the case is also done subtly. It is just to illuminate the important bits of the build but not overpowering. Overall, the aesthetic of this PC can be summed up as being gamery yet refined and elegant at the same time. It definitely carries a grown-up touch.

When it comes to the salient features this PC has a lot going for. The features it includes are the ones that are very practical and quite beneficial in daily use.

This PC comes with the latest Wi-Fi 6 connectivity baked into it. This frees you from the need of buying an aftermarket adapter and dongles to enjoy a high-quality Wi-Fi connection. The connection here is very stable and even after my extensive time with the PC, there was not even a single dropped connection.

Along with the Wi-Fi, you are getting built-in Bluetooth connectivity. The Bluetooth here is also running on the latest technology and therefore is very effective. Pairing up a Bluetooth-compatible gadget is relatively easy and once paid the connection remains solid throughout.

The Yeyian X23 from the factory also comes with Windows 11 right out of the box. This nifty little feature will save you the hassle of upgrading Windows later on which as we all know how tedious it can be.

If anything goes wrong with the PC, you are covered with an industry-leading 3-year warranty from Yeyian. For an amateur PC gamer, this is quite reassuring. What is better more is the fact that along with the warranty you also get lifetime technical support for your gaming machine.

2. CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR

PROS

  • Good gaming performance
  • Intel i7 12700KF processor is the best in its class
  • Unique case design
  • Plenty of RGB glow
  • Comes with Windows 11 right out of the box
  • Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity

CONS

  • Not the best connectivity
  • Airflow is quite lacking

When it comes to high-end prebuilt gaming PCs, the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR is no slouch. By having the latest PC hardware from the likes of Intel this PC is ready to take any performance obstacle thrown its way. Gaming Experience

The gaming experience is the culmination of the most important useability aspect of the PC. This metric is the most important because it single-handedly defines how much you are going to enjoy a particular PC after its purchase.

Nobody wants to regret his purchase therefore I am pleased to report that with the CyberPowerPC there won’t be any need for that because this PC provided a very good gaming experience.

Day in and day out it will be able to play all the games you throw at it without much hassle. That being said though, during my testing I found out that despite having most of the same components the raw performance capability of this PC is slightly lacking when compared to the Yeyian Kunai X23.

This is because the Yeyian X23 has faster RAM and a better cooling solution. The better cooling ensures that the CPU runs at its maximum potential while the RAM speeds in data faster to the PC hence increasing the efficiency of the system and boosting performance.

For testing purposes, the same games were played on this PC that the other PCs in this article were subjective to. The average FPS of the CyberPowerPC Gamer Supreme were as follows:

  • Average FPS on 1080p Resolution

70 FPS in Red Dead Redemption, 77 FPS in Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, 85 FPS in Forza Horizon 5, 109 in Fortnite, 125 FPS in COD WarZone, 159 FPS in Apex Legends, and 390 FPS in Valorant.

  • Average FPS on 1440p Resolution

54 FPS in Red Dead Redemption, 63 FPS in Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, 69 FPS in Forza Horizon 5, 71 FPS in Fortnite, 85 in COD WarZone, 130 FPS in Apex Legends, and 260 FPS in Valorant.

All of the above-mentioned games played on both the 1080p as well as the 1440p resolution were subjected to the highest graphic settings that were available for each game.

The FPS figures are very competitive to the most powerful gaming PC on this list and the difference is minimal therefore it won’t be wrong to say that the gaming experience of this PC is very similar to that of the most powerful gaming PC on this list.

Specifications

Where this PC absolutely gets everything right is when it comes to the specifications. By having the top-notch latest hardware this PC cements its place on top of the performance throne for RTX 3060 prebuilt PCs.

Powering the PC is a 12th generation Intel i7 12700Kf processor. This 12 core 20 thread CPU from Intel is a beast when it comes to gaming performance and is also quite capable of productivity tasks.

This processor is quite faster compared to other similar offerings in the market, and it won’t be wrong to say that it is the best processor in the price range that we are currently sitting at. The ludicrous performance however comes at a price and in our case, that is the heat generated by the processor.

To combat the heat issue, this PC has a custom AIO liquid cooler installed. The purpose of having an AIO liquid cooler is to help keep the temperature of the Intel i7 within safe operating limits. Since water is a better conductor of heat than air and more efficient therefore an AIO liquid cooler works better than a traditional air cooler for this task.

The AIO liquid cooler also has a smaller footprint which allows for better clearance for the RAM slots. Talking about RAM, this PC comes with 16GB DDR4 RAM installed which is running at a clock speed of 3200MHz.

The storage capacity of the PC is also plentiful. This PC comes with a 512GB NVME M2 SSD and a 2TB HDD. Both drives combined to provide total storage of 2.5TB which is more than enough for most gamers.

Rounding off the specification department is a Z690 motherboard. It is quite nice to see that CyberPowerPC has not cheapened out on the motherboard. The Z series gaming motherboard is the highest quality one that you can get in an Intel PC. They also allow for overclocking hence that prospect is also unlocked if you want to avail it later on.

Case Design and Connectivity

CyberPowerPC has not been the trend follower but the trendsetter in the case design of prebuilt gaming systems and this time around they have again brought something very compelling to the table.

The Gamer Xtreme VR has a very unique and distinct case design. The front panel of the PC is made from tempered glass. Usually, the glass panel is located at the right side of the PC therefore seeing it on the front is surely a sight to behold.

Since as you all know glass has transparent qualities, what this does for the PC is that it allows for the better visibility of the RGB lighting that is used in the PC.

Besides the glass panel, this interesting case has a lot more to offer as well. One thing I particularly like about the case is that it is clean and doesn’t contain over-branding. You only get the CyberPowerPC logo at the front of the PC while the company name is spelled on the PSU shroud.

The clean aspect also continues outside the branding part. This case has smooth and uninterrupted body lines hence you can envision this PC case as being a silky-smooth cuboid with sharp edges.

Due to the relatively simple case design, CyberPowerPC had a lot of surface area to work with and I am pleased to say that they have put the excess area to good use. This PC contains all the ports that you are going to need on a daily basis.

The ports are also very accessible albeit not as easy to reach because the size of the case is rather large. On the front, you get 2x USB Type-A ports, separate 3.5mm ports for Audio and Mic, a button to change the color of RGB lighting, and a power button.

While on the back the ports include ethernet jack, HDMI, DisplayPort, multiple 3.5mm ports for connecting surround sound speaker setups, USB Type-C port, and additional USB Type-A ports.

Aesthetics and Salient Features

The aesthetic of this case is dominated by the RGB lighting. Everywhere you look on the case RGB lighting is the center stage of everything.

There is not anything more to say, so if you are a fan of RGB lighting then you are highly going to enjoy the aesthetic of this PC and if you fall in the other camp then you might find the RGB lighting very overwhelming.

One thing that caught my attention I want to highlight is the impeccable job CyberPowerPC has done with the cable management of the Gamer Xtreme VR. There are no loose or dangling cables as a result the interior bay of the PC looks tidy and flawless.

When it comes to the salient features, there is not much to discuss here because this PC does not contain any groundbreaking features.

The most it has is a built-in Wi-Fi 6 connection. Due to being Wi-Fi 6 the performance and stability of the Wi-Fi signal are top-notch. In my long stint with the PC, I never faced any random drop or disconnection in the Wi-Fi.

Along with the Wi-FI, you also get the latest Bluetooth connection built-in on your PC. This effectively turns your PC into a portable hotspot for all your Bluetooth gaming peripherals like Bluetooth headphones, keyboards, and much more.

A neat feature that I like about this PC is that it comes with Windows 11 right out of the box. This means that you won’t have to do the tedious work of upgrading Windows by yourself after buying the PC.

Besides this, there is not any other noteworthy feature worth highlighting. All in all, we could say that this PC is a little short on features but then again how many of the gamers do care about features anyway.

Compact Pick

3. ZOTAC MEK Hero G1 A5636

PROS

  • Minimalist and elegant case design
  • Compact size
  • Ryzen 5 5600X is powerful and efficient
  • Low fan noise
  • Good connectivity
  • Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity

CONS

  • Restrictive airflow
  • 1.5TB storage space is on the lower side

The MEK Hero G1 is a hidden gem in the overwhelming sea of prebuilt gaming PCs. Not only does this PC have excellent hardware for the price but all the components used are from well-reputed manufacturers. Despite some very minor flaws, this PC provides gamers with an excellent experience. Overall, with this PC you are getting a complete value for the package.

Gaming Experience

MEK Hero G1 has pegged everything on the latest Ryzen 5 processor. The Ryzen 5 5600x was undoubtedly the best processor before the release of the newer 12th generation Intel processor but now its performance falls short of the Intel.

This performance difference means that the Ryzen powered MEK HERO G1 is not as capable as the previous two Intel-powered gaming desktops for daily use. During my testing of this PC, the following average FPS numbers were obtained.

  • Average FPS on 1080p Resolution

73 FPS in Red Dead Redemption, 59 FPS in Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, 82 FPS in Forza Horizon 5, 103 in Fortnite, 118 FPS in COD WarZone, 128 FPS in Apex Legends, and 338 FPS in Valorant.

  • Average FPS on 1440p Resolution

60 FPS in Red Dead Redemption, 63 FPS in Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, 65 FPS in Forza Horizon 5, 69 FPS in Fortnite, 77 FPS in COD WarZone, 110 FPS in Apex Legends, and 240 FPS in Valorant.

All of the above-mentioned games played on both the 1080p as well as the 1440p resolution were subjected to the highest graphic settings that were available for each game.

From the above FPS figures, you can clearly see that the gaming experience of this PC is very close to the two above. Although the average FPS figures are on the lower side, all the games still run very smoothly on this PC.

The gaming is a culmination of many aspects of a PC and if you factor in those as well then the Ryzen powered MEK HERO G1 can be a great choice because the power draw and the thermal dissipation of this PC are quite less compared to Intel counterparts hence the fan noise of this PC is also lower.

Specifications

MGK Hero G1 has a solid set of specifications. For this PC, MEK has chosen to go with team Red. As a result, this PC has the Ryzen 5 5600x processor. This 6 core 12 thread processor is quite low on core count when compared with the 12th generation Intel processor therefore the processor is not up to the mark.

The Ryzen falls 20% behind in performance compared to Intel processors but the major advantage for going with a Ryzen is that you get much better efficiency and heat dissipation.

This processor has a relatively low output therefore it does not require a liquid cooler. This is the reason, only a stock air cooler is installed on this processor for cooling, and it works very well. It manages to keep the temperature of the CPU below 80°c during gaming.

One trait of Ryzen processors is that they require fast memory. I am quite pleased to say that this PC comes with 16GB DDR4 RAM running at a clock of 3200MHz. This high clock speed will help the Ryzen 5600x to deliver its maximum performance.

Coming onto the storage, this PC comes with not one but two storage drives. The first drive is the faster one in the form of a 500GB M2 NVME SSD. This is the drive where you will install your Windows and store the most important software.

The other 1TB HDD is the slower drive and this is the mass storage drive of the PC and is mainly used to store games and other software programs whose performance is not linked directly to drive speed.

Case Design and Connectivity

The MEK Hero G1 plays relatively safe with its case design albeit a bit too safe. This PC has a simple and bland case design which some gamers will appreciate while others this aspect might be a deal-breaker.

The front of the case has a smooth plastic panel which is unlike the norm because normally we see rad designs for the front panel. I will say though that this design approach looks very clean and elegant.

Not bucking the trend, you do get a temper glass panel on the right side of the case. The glass covers the complete section from end to end.

For cooling purposes, this case has a small cutout at the edges of both side panels. The cutout allows for air to pass but is protected by a mesh grill to stop dust particles from entering the PC. The size of the opening however is not that large therefore considering that the front airflow of the case is quite limited.

You do, however, get a very large mesh cutout on the top of the PC. This ventilation slot provides the bulk of the air to the PC for cooling. Despite having this large cutout, the top, I/O ports are well-positioned and clearly labeled.

For connectivity at the front, you get 3x USB Type-A ports, a separate 3.5mm audio and mic port, a reset switch, a power button, and a led indicator.

The bulk of the connectivity is found at the back of the PC with ports that include HDMI, DisplayPort, ethernet jack, 6x USB Type-A ports, USB-C port, and multiple audio ports for connecting speakers in a surround sound configuration.

Aesthetics and Salient Features

As discussed earlier this PC has a clean and simple case design therefore the minimalist aesthetic theme is the one that is followed with the look of this PC.

That being said though, I absolutely adore the grayish-purple matte finish of this PC. This color looks very pleasing to the eye and is a breath of fresh air from your typical black or white gaming machines.

If you are into the more minimal and elegant aesthetic theme, then you are going to love the look of this PC but the gamers who have become accustomed to flashy gaming PCs should shy away from the MEK Hero G1 because this will not provide that.

To spice up the look of this PC, 3x RGB fans are installed in the PC. These fans illuminate the inner cabinet of the case and make it look quite good. Continuing the theme of minimalism, the RGB lighting on this PC is not done to an extensive amount.

Moving onto the salient features next and being a relatively new entrant in the market this PC is not packed with features. It only has some basic features that are now essential on any gaming PC north of $1500.

Yes, I am talking about the built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. By featuring the latest Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 this PC eliminates the need of having 3rd party dongles and adapters.

The Wi-Fi connection here IS very stable and disconnections are non-occurring. The internet speed gamers can achieve on Wi-Fi is also quite good. The same is the case with the Bluetooth connection. It too works very well, and I never encountered any problem when connecting my favorite pair of Sony Bluetooth headphones on this PC.

4. iBUYPOWER Pro TraceMR 216i

PROS

  • Eye-catching case design
  • Very bright RGB lighting
  • Good airflow and thermals
  • Good connectivity
  • Good cable management and neat presentation

CONS

  • No USB-C port included on the front I/O
  • Older gen processor
  • 480GB storage space is not sufficient enough

iBUYPOWER is known for its high-end gaming PCs. The company has quite a repute in this domain, and they are back with another amazing gaming PC. The iBUYPOWER Pro TraceMR 216i is an all-glass RGB gaming PC that is not all about the show. It also contains very good hardware under the hood that can run all modern games relatively well. This PC is not immune to drawbacks and has a fair share of them.

Editor’s Rating

Gaming Experience

The iBUYPOWER Pro Gaming PC was released last year so does not have all the latest hardware that the aforementioned 3 PCs contained. Despite that, the PC is still going strong to this day.

The performance of this PC is still more than enough to play all the games at decent frames on high and ultra graphic settings. During testing, this PC gave me the following average frame rate in games

  • Average FPS on 1080p Resolution

65 FPS in Red Dead Redemption, 72 FPS in Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, 80 FPS in Forza Horizon 5, 100 in Fortnite, 120 FPS in COD WarZone, 135 FPS in Apex Legends, and 310 FPS in Valorant.

  • Average FPS on 1440p Resolution

50 FPS in Red Dead Redemption, 66 FPS in Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, 60 FPS in Forza Horizon 5, 73 FPS in Fortnite, 78 FPS in COD WarZone, 115 FPS in Apex Legends, and 237 FPS in Valorant.

All of the above-mentioned games played on both the 1080p as well as the 1440p resolution were subjected to the highest graphic settings that were available for each game.

From the FPS figures, it is quite obvious that this PC performs in the same vein as that of the MEK HERO G1. The FPS numbers of the iBUYPOWER Pro Gaming PC are comparable to the MEK Hero G1 with this PC taking the edge in some games while the latter having an upper hand in other games.

What is clear however is that this PC cannot touch the Intel 12th generation powered gaming desktops on this list.

Therefore, it can be said that the everyday gaming experience of this PC will slot in below the CyberPower Gamer Supreme and the Yeyian Kunai X23 but will be similar to the MEK HERO G1.

Specifications

In the specification department, this PC is not a superstar like the ones featured before this, but it is not a slouch either. The main issue with this PC is that it contains an older 11th generation Intel processor rather than the latest 12th generation.

That being said though, the performance difference between the two is marginal at best. The 11th generation i7 is about 20% slower than the latest 12th generation i7.

Despite that, the gaming experience of the two is quite similar because the graphics card used in all the PCs is the same Nvidia RTX 3060 and that is the most important deciding factor for gaming.

The Intel 11th generation i7 11700f is an 8 core 16 thread processor. The core count of this processor is higher than the AMD Ryzen 5 but lower than the Intel 12th generation hence it slots in nicely between the two.

Like the latest Intel processor, this 11th generation i7 can also get a little toasty under load therefore a good cooler is required for maintaining the temperature of this CPU. For this purpose, iBUYPOWER has installed a led air cooler on this CPU.

Air coolers are not as effective as AIO liquid so the temperatures that you are getting here are not comparable to PCs with liquid coolers but having said that the temperatures are definitely not terrible.

You get some occasional throttling but most of them while the CPU runs fine in gaming and manages to stay below 90°C. This isn’t convincing but gets the job done.

As for the other specs, this PC comes with 16GB DDR4 running at a clock speed of 3200MHz. The storage is the biggest weak point of this PC. Installed in this PC is only a single 480GB SSD. The SSD is also not M2 NVME hence alongside the space constraint the speed of the SSD is also not on par with other gaming PCs on this list.

Case Design and Connectivity

iBUYPOWER is known for trendy yet functional cases and this one is no exception. For this PC, iBUYPOWER has carved a very interesting-looking case that has distinct design features.

This case comes in a glass sandwich design meaning that the front, as well as the side panel of the case, is made from temper glass. That being said, rather than opting for a plain glass panel iBUYPOWER has given the front panel a rather unique design.

The front panel of this PC has 3 contours that meet at the middle of the panel to form a prism-shaped design. Since glass is not good for airflow of the PC this prism shape is there in the middle of the front panel to allow for airflow. Unlike the rest of the panel, this prism insert is not finished in glass but rather in a mesh material.

This design feature is quite thoughtful because it not only adds to the uniqueness of the case but also helps in the airflow department. As for the rest of the PC, it is your typical standard affair.

One aspect I don’t like about the case is that when looked inside from the side glass window large pockets of the inside panel look empty. I reckon iBUYPOWER should have gone with a tad smaller case.

That being said though, I have to give credit where it’s due. The cable management of this PC is spectacular. There are no loose or hanging wires and every cable seems to be well organized. Props to iBUYPOWER for keeping a clean interior profile with all the cables.

Talking about cables, let’s move to connectivity next. The iBUYPOWER Pro Gaming PC also does quite well in this regard. The connectivity is not flawless and there are some ports that are lacking and some that need to be positioned correctly but for the most part, you will get by fine when daily using this PC.

At the front of the PC, the ports that you are getting include 2x USB Type-A ports, separate ports for audio and mic, a button to change the color of RGB lighting, and a power button.

While on the back of the PC the ports that are present include ethernet jack, HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, 5x USB-A, and multiple audio ports for connecting a surround sound speaker setup.

Aesthetics and Salient Features

The aesthetic of this RGB can be defined by one word and one word alone. That one word is RGB! The RGB lighting on this PC takes the center stage and dominates the look of this PC.

Wherever you look on this PC that part will be illuminated by RGB lighting. I know many gamers have a soft spot for RGB lighting but the amount of lighting present here at times can get eerily overwhelming.

If that happens you always have the option of changing the color of the RGB from the button to the front to something like white.

Moving on to the salient features, this PC doesn’t come with many features onboard. It contains the usual built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and nothing else.

Luckily the Wi-Fi here is using the latest Wi-Fi 6 technology so the connection it provides is stable and uninterrupted. You could even play online games on Wi-Fi, but I won’t recommend that.

The Bluetooth also works quite well, and I had no problem with connecting multiple Bluetooth-supported gadgets to this PC. Everything that I connected to worked quite well.

Cheapest Pick

5. HP Pavilion TG01-1183w

PROS

  • Inexpensive
  • Excellent connectivity
  • Micro-SD card slot
  • Windows 11 out of the box
  • Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity
  • Good gaming experience for the price

CONS

  • Older gen Intel i5 processor
  • 256GB storage space is not sufficient enough
  • 8GB RAM is not enough by today’s standards

The HP Pavilion TG01-1183w is an economical RTX 3060 gaming PC that does not cost an arm and a leg. Being manufactured by HP the quality of the components used in the PC is also quite good but to keep the price down some compromises had to be made. These cost-cutting measures however do not impact the overall gaming experience of this PC.

Gaming Experience

The HP Pavilion TG01-1183w is the cheapest PC with the RTX 3060. Keeping this in mind, the gaming experience of this PC is not half bad. It is certainly not on par with the more expensive gaming PCs but given the price, I would say the HP does quite well for itself.

Given that this PC has dated hardware the performance of this PC is decent. It can play all the modern games at 1080p resolution without a hitch but for playing games at 1440p resolution you might need to tweak your graphic settings a bit.

I ran this PC through the same testing as other PCs on this list. The average frame rate that this PC gave in various games was as follows:

  • Average FPS on 1080p resolution

63 FPS in Red Dead Redemption, 65 FPS in Forza Horizon 5, 68 FPS in Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, 90 FPS in Fortnite, 117 FPS in COD WarZone, 128 FPS in Apex Legends, and 312 FPS in Valorant

  • Average FPS on 1440p Resolution

47 FPS in Red Dead Redemption, 55 FPS in Forza Horizon 5, 60 FPS in Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, 72 FPS in Fortnite, 105 FPS in COD WarZone, 112 FPS in Apex Legends, and 220 FPS in Valorant.

From the above FPS figures, it is quite clear that the HP Pavilion TG01-1183w is a great option for playing games at the 1080p resolution. However, for 1440p gaming, you will need to lower the graphic settings down a bit because as seen above some games fall below the 60 FPS threshold.

That being said though, for the price the HP Pavilion TG01-1183w does better than expected and is certainly a viable option as a budget-friendly RTX 3060 prebuilt PC.

Specifications

The specification is the area where it becomes apparent why this PC costs almost $500+ dollars compared to the next best RTX 3060 PC. No, I am not saying that the specs are terrible or anything, but they certainly are not the best either.

Powering the PC is a 2-year generation old Intel i5 10400 processor. If we are being honest the 10th generation i5 is not that good of a processor and has it beat by all other processors.

The 6 cores 12 thread that this processor has are not fast enough compared to today’s standard and while they do offer decent performance, the performance numbers are 30-40% less when compared to the latest 12th generation Intel i5 12600k.

This processor is also not efficient and therefore produces a lot of heat. To combat this heat and overcome the PC from heating the fans of this PC have to spin at a higher RPM causing a lot of noise. If you are sensitive to noise or work in an environment that is quiet, then this PC might be a nuisance.

As for the other specs, this pc has 8GB DDR4 ram which is on the lower side. You might face some hiccups in multitasking. The 256GB SSD installed on this PC is on the smaller side and will get filled up pretty quickly. Therefore, bear in mind that after a month or two you might need an additional SSD drive if you want to download a lot of games. Luckily, the RAM and the SSD here are easily upgradeable.

Still, I have to give it to HP for producing a mainstream PC that has the full version of the RTX 3060 at a price that is almost half the competition.

Case Design and Connectivity

The case of this PC is extremely simple to the point where it looks generic. If we remove the HP logo situated at the bottom left of the front panel, this case will resemble other gaming PCs in design.

This case is so simple that it doesn’t even have a side glass panel that you normally see on gaming-oriented desktops PCs. Therefore, the shape of this case is nothing special, but I must say, the all-metal design gives the PC a very industrial and understated look. Hence this PC can be used inside a professional or an office setting without anyone batting an eye.

This case is not without its quirks, it has some practical design elements that set it apart from the mainstream competition.

At the top of the case, you get a proper air ventilation hole, which allows for air to pass into the PC. I may sound like a broken record, but airflow is very important in a case and despite having an enclosed case this PC does it quite well.

Hence it comes to connectivity, HP has nailed it. This PC, despite being the cheapest RTX 3060 prebuilt PC on the market, offers the best connectivity. It has all the ports that you may need for gaming in very convenient and easy-to-reach spots.

In my time with the PC, I encountered no hiccups connecting all sorts of various peripherals and gadgets with all sorts of different cable types.

As for the ports themselves, the front I/O includes 4x USB Type-A ports, USB-C, Micro-SD card slot, separate 3.5mm ports for audio and mic, and a power button.

Having a micro-SD and a USB-C conveniently positioned at the front of the PC makes for a great user experience. More and more gaming desktops are getting rid of the micro-SD card slot, and I am glad HP has not gone down that rabbit hole.

All the additional ports are found on the back of the PC, and these include HDMI, DisplayPort, 6x USB Type-A ports, and an ethernet jack.

Aesthetics and Salient Features

The aesthetics of this PC can be summarized into one word and that is minimalist. The HP Pavilion TG01-1183w has a very clean and forgetful look which is contrary to what the other popular gaming desktops are rocking.

That said though, the presence of green led lighting at the bottom of the front panel adds some spice to the otherwise boring design. The use of a carbon fiber pattern at the front of the case also makes the PC look somewhat decent.

This all, however, cannot change the fact that this HP PC has an industrial design and hence looks and feels like any other desktop PC that you would find in an office or a college.

Due to this minimalist approach, this PC also doesn’t have any highlight-worthy features. All the features present on this PC are there for practical purposes.

The most noteworthy one is the inclusion of built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The Wi-FI however does not use the latest technology like other PCs on the list and hence is not as effective in its operation. I wouldn’t game on this PC with Wi-Fi because of the presence of some lag and jitter when using Wi-Fi.

The Bluetooth however works as expected and I had no trouble connecting any compatible device to this PC. The connection was quite stable and signal reception was also quite good. All in all, no problem whatsoever.

Another neat feature that this PC has is that it comes with the latest Windows 11 from the factory. This means that you don’t have to go through the hassle of upgrading Windows which can be quite a confusing and tedious task in itself.

Final Word

Now that all the 3060 prebuilt PC reviews are covered, it is time to wrap up the article. After going through all the reviews, it should be quite clear that each PC that is on the list has its own traits that are going to benefit consumers differently.

Let’s take the Yeyian Kunai X23 and the CyberPowerPC Gamer Supreme as references. Despite containing nearly the same hardware and having the same performance the Yeyian Kunai X23 is for gamers who value a premium experience while the latter is for gamers that want the best possible performance they can get for the least possible price.

What I am trying to say is that there is a PC for everyone on this list. The reason for including thorough reviews is that you can determine the ideal gaming PC for your needs.

Now before I sign off, do let me know in the comment section which PC did you end up buying. Also, let me know whether this is your first PC purchase or you are looking to upgrade from an existing gaming desktop.
